View DetailsSpecification Guide
A reading light is used at close range, so its position, adjustment and controls matter as much as its appearance. The fixture should be reviewed with the bed, headboard and bedside furniture rather than selected in isolation.
For recessed fittings, confirm the cut-out, panel thickness and available depth. Surface-mounted lights require a suitable fixing surface and cable entry. These details should be coordinated before the headboard is manufactured.
Review the mounting height, beam direction and adjustment range against the normal reading position. A drawing or room mock-up helps identify whether the light reaches the book without creating unnecessary glare for the adjacent guest.
Confirm the location of the switch, the supply voltage and any dimming requirement. Driver location and access for replacement should be agreed with the electrical and joinery teams before the fixture detail is finalised.
Send a headboard elevation and section, proposed mounting position, finish references, quantities and switching requirements. If you are replacing an existing fitting, include photographs and measured mounting dimensions.
